여름같이 날씨가 많이 더워졌는데요, 모두 힘내서 열심히 아이엘츠 준비하시기 바래요~

이제 벌써 다섯 번째 시간으로, 아카데믹 쓰기 시험 Task 1과 관련된 샘플 문제와 설명입니다. Academic writing task 1에서는 통계화되어 있는 정보를 묘사해야 합니다. 여기에서 통계화 되어 있는 정보란 그래프 형식, 차트, 테이블 등을 말합니다. 보여지는 정보에 대한 배경지식이나 시사적인 사항을 질문하는 것이 아니라, 보여지는 정보에 대한 단순 묘사임을 염두하여, 20분 동안 150자 분량으로 작성합니다.

ü Explain what trends ( patterns of information ) there are
ü Give some specific examples to emphasise the trends and support your statements
Do not do the following:
û use note form or bullet points
û leave out any required information
아카데믹 쓰기 Task1에서 범하기 쉬운 오류
• not demonstrating recognition of certain trends
• understanding the data incorrectly
• giving reasons for the data which are not presented in the information
• the answer is not well organised, with ideas being confused

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
The 1st chart shows the results of a survey asking people from
why they travelled abroad. The 2nd chart shows the places that they went to.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown in a minimum of 150 words.

A possible answer
Between 1997 and 2001 the tables show that overall, 2000 was the year that most Australians went abroad. Altogether, going on holiday was the most popular reason that Australians went abroad, but in 1999 and 2000 more business trips were made than holiday trips. In 2001 the number of business trips dropped sharply from 23,700 to 10,300. In the period, the number of trips to visit friends remained fairly constant at between 3,500 and 4,200, and ‘other’ trips never rose above 900. In terms of destinations, we see a large rise in visits to Whatever caused the fall in numbers travelling in 2001, this mainly affected business trips, and the biggest destination affected was 173 words |
